“Flavours of Kalamaja” is a monthly event series that takes place in the kitchen of the Kalamaja Museum. Together, you can enjoy wonderful dishes and collect new recipes.

Flavours of Kalamaja with Maru, October 2022
“Flavours of Kalamaja” cooking events take place once a month, always at 18:00 on a specified date.
The next cooking evening is taking place on March 20th 18:00 and Daniel Teichmann will be teaching how to make bread.
Daniel spent the first 17 years of his life in Nõmme, Tallinn, but went to highschool in Pelgulinn. By now he has been living in Northern Tallinn for twenty years and during that, has become the father to seven-year-old twins. Daniel has a baker-confectioner vocational education and higher education in Estonian sign language translation. He began cooking in childhood due to circumstances: “I was a very early bird in childhood and did not want to wake up my parents on weekends. I started cooking for myself in the mornings. My greatest role model in cooking has been TV chef Jazz.”
Daniel began baking bread only a few years ago, inspired by his son’s question of when they would start doing it together. In autumn of 2024, Daniel became the bread baker of Rocca al Mare school: “I make thirty loaves of bread for a thousand four hundred people daily. I have participated in the Kalamaja cooking evenings for years and this time I will be teaching my own skills.”
The cooking event fee is 15 euros and attendance is permitted only with a pre-purchased ticket from Fienta HERE. Tickets are limited!
2025 dates: 16.01, 20.02, 13.03, 10.04. Specifics are to be announced.
